Iceland, a Nordic island nation, is well known for its dramatic landscape with ice caves, waterfalls, volcanoes, hot springs and lava fields. Massive glaciers are protected in Vatnajökull and Snæfellsjökull national parks. Most of the population lives in the capital, Reykjavik, which runs on geothermal power.

You might think it will be too cold to enjoy yourself. While it is winter, the average high temperature in the upper 30's F. During winter, the sun stays low in the sky and daylight only lasts about four and a half hours, which is ideal for great photography conditions and catching Northern Lights

Our adventure starts in Keflavik, where the country's international airport is located. We will spend the next 5 days driving a loop around the country (which is about the size of Virginia) and photographing the incredible landscapes. Our adventure will end back in Keflavik.
