2018 geminid Meteor
Shower Workshop
december 13-15, 2018
Terlingua, Texas

The Geminid Meteor Shower is hands down one of the most anticipated meteor showers of 2018. This year, the moon sets fairly early and will be in a waxing crescent stage. This means there will be almost zero light to interfere with viewing meteors, which peak on the nights of December 13-14.

The skies in the Texas Big Bend are so dark, that fireballs light the ground a brilliant turquoise-green when large chunks of cosmic dust burn up in the atmosphere above. Smoke trails left behind glow brilliantly for several seconds.

When you read articles stating 100 meteors per hour could be visible, they aren't talking about near your city, they're talking about dark sky spots like Big Bend. If you enjoy astrophotography, or even just looking up at the night sky, this is the can't miss photography workshop of 2018.

The cost of lodging is not included in the workshop. We will almost always meet at Big Bend Resort & Adventures in Study Butte-Terlingua. You can contact them to make your reservation at any time by calling (432) 371-2218.
